Lynch Savouring Goal & Victory

Joel Lynch netted first for the terriers on Saturday and gave his team the lead against Burnley with a headed effort that was deemed across the line by the linesman. The big defender celebrated with the Town faithful and admitted that he is still savouring that moment two days later;

"The lads were brilliant and I thought it was a really good team performance against Burnley, exactly what the gaffer wanted us to produce. We are really happy with the three points and I never thought we looked like letting the game slip."

"Our team shape was good, James Vaughan made an excellent debut and gave us that 'out' option for a pass and we were good all over the pitch, with Jordan scoring an excellent second goal to give us that extra leeway. There is pressure, because we know we have to win, but I just feel so relaxed out on the pitch and I'm really enjoying my football because we work so hard and we have a lot of energy in the team."

"We have made a really good start to the campaign – playing well in all three matches so far – and I think we are going to do well because we are only just settling in. All the lads are playing well now, but once we get used to playing Championship football in 10 or 15 games time we will really get into it and play our best football, so I'm really happy about the way things are going."

"I've scored before from set-pieces and corners and I spoke to Ollie before the game about the area I wanted him to cross it to, and he delivered it perfectly. I got a good contact on it and, having watched the video, it looked like it went over the line to me, so I'm very happy with that."
