Grayson & Southern Excited For Barcelona B Friendly

Huddersfield Town will host Barcelona B in a friendly at The John Smiths Stadium on Wednesday night in their first home pre-season tie and also their last. The fixture has been announced for a while now and a good turn out is expected from Town fans to see the stars of the future in action against our new squad.

Simon Grayson is looking forward just as much to the game as what the fans are and expects the friendly to be a good test for his new recruits;

"It is a fantastic fixture for the Club and everyone connected with us and it will be very exciting for the players. You don't get too many opportunities to see Barcelona live at whatever level and some of the players playing tomorrow night, although you may not have heard of them, will go on to be big stars for the first team."

"It will be great for the football club; hopefully we will get a big crowd in to see our new players and also the next generation of Barcelona stars.  We will field a strong team on Wednesday night, but everyone will get a run out because at the end of the day it is another friendly and we have to make sure that the players are getting the right amount of match time ahead of the start of the season."

Keith Southern is also ready for the clash against the Spanish and is set to receive more game time under Simon Grayson;

"I think we will be running and chasing all night against those boys! It is an attractive fixture and our only home fixture of pre-season, so hopefully it will attract a big crowd. It is a good game to set us up for the start of the season next week."
