Grayson Does Not Need To Sell

Simon Grayson has today stated that he does not need to sell any players before bringing new faces into the squad. The rumours of James Vaughan circulated numerous sites again last night but the question was, do Huddersfield need to sell Rhodes before they buy?

Well Grayson answered that this morning when he spoke to the local newspaper;

"We have made a few calls privately, but we are working on trying to bring some players to the football club. Hopefully we will be able to conclude that business, but whether it will be before the weekend or whether it will have to wait until next week I just don’t know."

"I am happy with what I’ve got in the squad already, but we are looking to strengthen the squad because a little bit more competition for places in certain areas of the pitch will make us even stronger. Sometimes it’s not easy because you have to deal with agents and clubs want to keep hold of certain players for different reasons. That’s why you have to be patient and, hopefully, the ones we go after will eventually be concluded."

"We have a good squad here and the only way we will let players go out is to get first-team football, whether that’s permanent or on loan. We are not looking to get anybody out, but sometimes you have to be fair to one or two individuals if they have not been in the 18 this season, you have to give them the opportunity to get games."

The Huddersfield boss then gave us a quick update on Jordan Rhodes who, if reports are to be believed, may be playing for three different clubs next season;

"He was training this morning amid loads of speculation again. We have had this conversation many times, but our stance on him has never changed from a few weeks ago."
