What To Expect From Birmingham City

We got the low down on what to expect from Lee Clark's Birmingham City when the terriers clash against them at St. Andrews tomorrow at 3pm. Rob Wildey provided us with all the information we needed about how Birmingham have started the current season under former terriers boss Lee Clark;

Lee Clark's reign as Birmingham City boss has been packed with highs and lows already and its fair to say the jury is still out on him. The Barnsley defeat was disastrous, but the reaction from the players since has been superb. A good win at Brighton was followed by a narrow defeat, despite a good performance, at Cardiff. Now back to St Andrews to put the Barnsley debacle right.

The "big" players have been slow to get off the marl this term, but there's a sense that things are starting to improve. At Brighton, Chris Burke, easily our best player last season, was much improved. He's starting to look his dangerous-best again. Curtis Davies has come back into the team after the unfortunate injury to Pablo Ibanez, and has performed superbly. If Lee Clark can get it right, he'll be a hero at St. Andrews. For now, the majority still seem unconvinced.

At home to Huddersfield, we, as fans, want to see a performance. Were demanding it. The last home game was horrific, we need to prove it was a freak result and not let it happen again. Our visitors will know Clark well so its important that he picks a team that will attack and take the game to the Terriers. I'd like to see Nathan Redmond given more time on the pitch. We can't really judge a player until he's given a fair chance. Wade Elliott has been doing well recently, but Saturday could be a game for a more direct winger, Redmond certainly is that.

Our season won't truly be kick started until we find some consistency. Our current form shows 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats in last six games. St. Andrews can be a fortress, only losing there once last season gave us the platform to build a play-off push. We need to emulate that again.

Bring It On!
