Grayson Knows How Beckford Operates

Grayson finally got to be re-united with former Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford after joining the terriers on an emergency loan for 93 days and now he has insisted that he will score goals for Huddersfield Town. Beckford has scored goals at every club he has played for but has fallen out of favour at Leicester City under manager Pearson and Grayson was keen to bring him to The John Smiths Stadium ever since finding out that the Foxes were happy to let him go;

"Jermaine is a good footballer who has got goals wherever he has been. Sometimes it's about analysing a player and working out what he needs from the manager, coaching staff and the other players around him. As a team, we have to give him the right kind of service and as an individual, Jermaine has to do the right things to complement the team."

"You have to manage people in different ways. Certain ones need an arm round them, some need a kick up the backside, and I know Jermaine well."

We reported around a week ago that Beckford had taken a wage drop in order to join Huddersfield Town and Grayson was extremely happy that he has done so in order to play under him once again;

"I'm delighted he has shown willing to come here and hopefully he will go from strength to strength. Watford was a difficult game for him. Because the deal wasn't finalised until the Friday evening, he'd not had any training sessions. Jermaine's been in the same dressing room as James Vaughan but the rest of the lads, he really only knew from playing against them."

"Then we didn't play the way we had in the previous seven games, so he didn't have an awful lot of ball to work with. He was blowing a little bit towards the end, but he's not started too many games for Leicester this season In addition, he'd been consigned to training with the Under 21s, but he showed glimpses of what he's all about and will get stronger and stronger."

Beckford is all set to make his second appearance for Huddersfield when the terriers come up against Birmingham City today in the 3pm kickoff.
