Southern Hoping For Points At St.Andrews

Keith Southern expressed his frustrations about the last two matches in which the terriers came out with two poor performances & zero points whilst playing in front of a home crowd. The tough tackling midfielder hasn't been on his best form especially against Leicester City on Tuesday but he is confident that Huddersfield can take something from the game against Birmingham City tomorrow;
"It's important to take something from the game before the international break. We will go with the mentality that we can pick something up from St Andrews. We are very disappointed with our last two performances. Going into last Saturday's match we were second in the League and at one point I think we were top. The last game and a half has not been good enough, but we have a chance to bounce back and put things right against Birmingham on Saturday."
Southern admits that the terriers are still learning about the Championship and what it takes to compete at this level compared to being in league one;
"We are still learning at this level and we are a young group. We will keep our feet on the ground and not get too carried away or too excited this early in the season. The young crop of players that the Manager has assembled at the Club is the most talented that I have ever worked with."
Huddersfield Town have conceded five goals in the last two defeats at home and Southern states that this is down to their own work ethic which has been missing;
"We didn't work enough hard. I think the majority of our results this season have come from working hard and our shear endeavour, but on Tuesday night we had four or five players off the pace and you get what you deserve in this League. We need to go back to basics and grind a result out at St Andrews. We need to turn up on Saturday with a siege mentality and try and turn things around. It is important to get something on the board, even if it is only a point, I don't think the Gaffer would mind too much. We won't go there looking to just get a point though, we will go with the intention of winning all three."
The terriers will travel to St. Andrews to take on Birmingham City after having two home games in a row & Southern expects the Town faithful to be getting behind the teams as always when they take on Lee Clark's men;
"It will be nice to go back on the road after two home games. Hopefully a change of scenery will do us some good and I am sure the fans will back us as they have done all season down at St Andrews. It will be a very tough game as they have got some very good players. Lee Clark has assembled a good side and has some dangerous players such as the wingers, Nathan Redmond and Chris Burke. I am expecting a hard contest because they should be higher up in the league than where they are."
