Grayson On Rhodes Speculation

Simon Grayson has spoke about the never ending speculation regarding the clubs top goalscorer last season, Jordan Rhodes. The Huddersfield boss is relaxed about the whole situation and spoke about how the club and Rhodes are happy with where the situation is currently at.

A host of Premiership & Championship clubs have been sniffing around the 40 goal hitman ever since the terriers gained promotion back in May and these clubs include Fulham, West Ham & Reading. Grayson had this to say;

"As far as Jordan is concerned, it's business as usual. He returned for pre-season training last Thursday and got straight down to work, which is exactly what you'd expect of a no-nonsense person like him. When you score 40 goals in a season, there is sure to be speculation. There's nothing any of us can do about that."

"But the great thing about Jordan is that he won't let it go to his head. He showed last season he can handle all the talk and go about his job, and that will carry on."

"Our stance hasn't changed – it would take a very serious offer to tempt us to sell. The chairman and I have spoken to Jordan about where we want the club to go. He's happy with the situation and so are we."

Simon Grayson is also aware of the Team GB situation where Rhodes has been placed on standby and can be called up by Stuart Pearce anytime before July 25th. This could ultimately mean that Jordan will miss a lot of pre-season football if he is indeed called up for the Olympics;

"If it happens, it happens, and we will congratulate Jordan and get on with things. Playing in the Olympics is a fantastic thing, and to have a player involved would reflect very well on this football club, especially when you think we were playing in League I last season. Jordan is certainly good enough to hold his own in that kind of company."
