Grayson Shares Positivity About International Call-Ups

Paul Dixon put in a superb performance for Scotland against Serbia at the weekend and Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson praised his attitude for both club & country in an interview this morning. Grayson has always celebrated the fact that a part of his squad get regular international call-ups even if it leaves him without his best players for a league game and he continued to echo this today;

"Paul's debut performance will have done him no end of good and worked wonders for his confidence. He played ever so well against Serbia and to do that in such an important game is significant for him and significant for the club. Paul has grown in stature as a result and, even if the lads who were originally in the squad are now fit again, he has shown what he can do and he's done his chances of more international involvement no harm whatsoever."

"I'm delighted for the lad, because he's a good worker, he wants to learn and he was determined to join us and further his career – and it's already happening for him. He's settled in well here, we like the attacking quality he gives us and his attitude is spot on, so the whole package of his game is one that appeals."

Oliver Norwood was also called up at the weekend for his country but he was denied a chance to shine as he remained on the bench for the entire game;

"Ollie will be disappointed he wasn't involved because he has made an excellent start to the season. But he's a regular with the national squad and if he gets the opportunity to show what he can do against Luxembourg, he certainly won't let anyone down."

Grayson ended his interview by giving Huddersfield Town fans an update as to what is happening in this loan window regarding players coming in;

"We have made a few inquiries and we are in the hands of the other clubs. There are plenty of options available to us, but we'll only sign people who will improve our squad and our team. There were people available in the transfer window, people who have now gone to other Championship clubs, who we felt just weren't quite at the right level. We only want the ones we feel are right for this club."
