Skipper Happy To Be Back In Starting Line-Up

Peter Clarke has expressed his delight to be back in the starting line-up for tomorrow's game against Birmingham City. The central defender has become a fans favourite over the last couple of years due to his passion, belief and commitment that is shown each and every time he puts the blue & white stripe shirt on. However, Clarke has suffered a couple of setbacks in the last few weeks as he became an unused substitute on the terriers bench against both Sheffield Wednesday & Leicester City before helping Town secure a clean sheet against Charlton in the FA Cup.

Peter Clarke spoke to the Huddersfield Town official website this morning;

"It is part and parcel of football and if you spit your dummy out you aren’t helping anyone. The best thing that you can do is encourage the lads; we win and lose as a collective and the squad is the most important thing. The Gaffer and I had a chat about matters and he put his points across and gave me his reasons. The group is the most important thing, but I was delighted to be back in the side against Charlton and for us to have put on a good performance."
"To put on a display like the one we did against Charlton was great. They are a good team who play to their strengths, so to go there and get a good result, and be in the next round of the Cup, is fantastic. It was nice to end the winless streak; winning breeds confidence."
"Birmingham will be well drilled and will work very hard. They will look to win the game and will play with an attacking mentality. We need to be in the right frame of mind and take on board what we have been working on over the last week to combat their threat."
If Peter Clarke is given a starting eleven spot he will have to face the tough challenge of keeping Blues forward Nikola Zigic quiet. The striker links up well with Nathan Redmond on the wing and is sure to be a handful for the terriers tomorrow;
"He is big lad and over the course of your career you come up against different tests and propositions. You try and recall upon those moments and put them in to practice. Whatever type of opposition comes my way on Saturday I will do my best to thwart them."
