Hoyle & Championship Budget

Chairman Dean Hoyle has spoken about the budget situation Huddersfield Town are now in after gaining promotion into the Championship with victory at Wembley. Here is what the lifelong Town fan had to say;

"We would have had to cut it (the budget available to Grayson) by 35 per cent." says Hoyle when asked about if the terriers failed to get promotion.

"That would have been big. But, at the same time, football has to cut its cloth accordingly. If we had been in League One, we would have done it. Now, though, we have a bit more cloth to play with. That is not to say we will be silly, as we will not, but we have more flexibility."

Seems like Hoyle is incredibly happy with promotion but had planned for both possible outcomes at Wembley. Its also good to hear we won't be spending silly amounts as we currently have a strong squad that will hold their own in the Championship.
