Grayson On The Fixtures

The fixture list was today released to football fans across the nation and its a special year for the terriers who are now in The Championship. Simon Grayson caught up with the official website to speak about the fixture list as well today and this is what he had to say;

"The fixture release is a special day for everyone, no matter what League you are in - but it feels even more special following our promotion. We're looking forward to every fixture this season. We have a lot of former Premier League clubs in the Championship this season and a lot of Yorkshire derbies."

"All the fixtures will be tough this term, but it makes all the work that has gone into getting promoted at this Club worthwhile and that's what it's all about. I would have liked a home game first up for our supporters, but you could have picked any opponent in this division and it would be a great prospect. Cardiff have been up in the Play-Offs for the last three or four seasons now and it will be a great game to start the season with."

"As a manager, you always look at the busy periods such as Christmas where you have back to back games and hope they are all within a good travelling distance. Our Christmas schedule looks fairly good this season, with home games on Boxing Day and 29 December and Leicester is not too far away on New Year's Day. It's so exciting for everyone. There are some big games in this division and we can't wait to get started."
